Qatar Airways Cargo Lands at Halifax Stanfield

New Cargo Flight to Add Approximately $1 Million in Export Value to Province Weekly

Halifax International Airport Authority (HIAA) has announced Qatar Airways Cargo will launch a weekly Wednesday service to Doha with a stop in Zaragoza, Spain. The new service, set to begin on July 20, 2016, will operate with a B777-200 freighter. The freighter can carry up to 103 tonnes of cargo. Much of that cargo will be Nova Scotia lobster and silver hake.

Halifax Stanfield Speeds Up U.S. Customs Process

HIAA has installed seven BorderXpress Automated Passport Control (APC) kiosks in the U.S. Preclearance area. The new kiosks help U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers process more passengers than traditional clearance methods, reducing congestion and decreasing wait times.
