Our citizens rely on it – with a record number of 3.7 million passengers in 2015. Our shippers count on it – air exports are worth over $438 million annually. Our tourism industry depends on it – almost one-third of the province’s tourists enter Nova Scotia through the airport. These figures are according to the latest economic impact report released today, which was produced by The Chris Lowe Group.

NewLeaf Travel, Canada’s newest low-cost travel company, has begun service at Halifax Stanfield International Airport, as the first flight arrived from Hamilton shortly after noon.

Qatar Airways Cargo Lands at Halifax Stanfield

New Cargo Flight to Add Approximately $1 Million in Export Value to Province Weekly

Halifax International Airport Authority (HIAA) has announced Qatar Airways Cargo will launch a weekly Wednesday service to Doha with a stop in Zaragoza, Spain. The new service, set to begin on July 20, 2016, will operate with a B777-200 freighter. The freighter can carry up to 103 tonnes of cargo. Much of that cargo will be Nova Scotia lobster and silver hake.
